About Scott
Scott J. O’Brien is passionate about changing the way the world understands—and talks about—mental health. He’s dedicated his career to breaking down stigma by sharing knowledge and expanding access to trusted, compassionate information about conditions such as depression, anxiety, and trauma disorders.
In 2016, O’Brien founded the Deconstructing Stigma program, a bold initiative designed to bring high-quality, accessible mental health education to people everywhere. One of his most impactful efforts has been the Deconstructing Stigma exhibit program, an international movement that’s sparked conversation and connection on five continents.
O’Brien also leads the development of widely respected educational programs for health care professionals, educators, and families including a popular mental health webinar series and virtual training courses on important topics such as suicide assessment, child and teen mental health, and the community impact of trauma.
Through these efforts, he and his team are reaching diverse audiences around the globe with tools, knowledge, and stories that inspire change.
